Blizzard of 2011

I Looooove snow!  It's a good thing because we had tons yesterday evening. 
Overall it was pretty exciting but for a couple of nervous moments because of the thundersnow... yeah, thundersnow.  It was really crazy, there was a brilliant flash of lightning and then thunder that seemed more like a small eathquake that just kept going, meanwhile the snowfall would increase.  I knew that as long as we had power everything would be ok.  Joe took the opportunity to brew some beer and I chilled out.  Both of us shovelled today.

This weekend we actually had a blizzard warning... yes, blizzard.  We did venture out for Mass but decided that the rest of our Sunday would be spent inside with our 4 month old and lots of kitchen time :)



Homemade Take5 candies and lots of pretzels



Joe and I experimented with our candy making abilities and made some Take5s- pretzel topped with peanut butter mix, soft caramel and dipped in chocolate.  We didn't have any peanuts so I guess it's more of our Take4s.  We like them better than the candy- they're soft and rich!  Definitely a make again recipe.

Benjamin is getting stronger and has been enjoying his high chair and walker.







Christmas is upon us

So is snow and ice! St. Vincent's had a snow day yesterday! Sometimes I wonder if I want snow days as much as the kids do... I had no idea that could have been the case when I was a kid. I really thought my teachers wanted nothing more than to be at school each and every day.

Joe and I are headed to his parents for this afternoon to trim the tree and hang out with Pete and his parents. Tomorrow after Mass we drive to Lafayette to celebrate Eric's graduation and have dinner with Jill's family. We'll be in Noblesville for Christmas, yay! Then it's back to Peoria to celebrate with Joe's family. Being married means so many more people to love and celebrate with... we are so blessed.
